At Silver Tech Support, we’re always working to keep you informed and protected in the digital world. This month, we’re highlighting a new set of Gmail scams that are targeting everyday users with surprisingly realistic emails and even phone calls generated by artificial intelligence.

Fake Gmail Alerts – Don’t Click “Yes” Unless You’re Sure

Scammers are now sending emails and phone calls that appear to be from Google. They claim there’s suspicious activity on your account and ask you to confirm that it’s really you. In some cases, they use AI-generated voices to sound like real Google support staff.

The goal is to trick you into clicking “Yes, it’s me” or giving out personal information—letting scammers into your Gmail account. At Silver Tech Support, we can help you double-check any suspicious alerts. If something seems off, don’t click! Reach out to us instead.

Beware of Scare Tactics – Including Fake Death Notices

One particularly disturbing scam tells you a death certificate was filed in your name, and someone is trying to recover your Gmail account. The scammers may then call you, pretending to be from Google, urging you to confirm your identity. These messages are designed to scare you into acting quickly—don’t fall for it.

How to Stay Safe:

  • Never confirm login activity you didn’t start yourself.

  • Don’t trust unsolicited calls or emails—even if they look official.

  • Be cautious with messages that create a sense of urgency or fear.

  • Use two-factor authentication to protect your Gmail account. If you want help setting this up, reach out to us!
